How we work
Allocators who reach us for the first time usually want the answer to one question before any other: on what basis should a manager you introduce be taken seriously? This page answers that in full, because the answer is the whole service.
Our standard of proof
A track record is only evidence if someone other than the manager stands behind it. We accept three things: an audit, a verified performance report, or raw broker and exchange data that we can reconcile ourselves. Nothing else.
Screenshots are not evidence. A self-published equity curve is not evidence. A backtest is a description of the past written after the fact, and we do not treat it as a record at all. This is not caution for its own sake — it is the single filter that removes most of what circulates in this industry.
The four stages
Sourcing. Managers come through our own network and through direct submissions. Every submission is read.
Systematic screening. We review the live record: risk-adjusted returns, drawdown depth and recovery, consistency across market regimes, correlation to traditional assets, and realistic capacity. Capacity matters more than most allocators expect — a strategy that works at one million and breaks at twenty is not a strategy an institution can use.
Operational review. Numbers are necessary and not sufficient. We review the operational setup, the risk controls and the manager's background. A record that cannot be explained is not a record we will introduce.
Introduction. The manager is presented with a complete package: documented record, reviewed setup, stated capacity. The allocator meets someone whose claims have already been tested.
What we do not do
Hedgemere Capital is not a fund. We do not hold client assets. We do not manage money on behalf of investors. We do not provide investment advice, and we do not act as a broker. Any arrangement is entered into directly between the allocator and the manager, under separate documentation, and we are not a party to it.
We say this plainly and repeatedly because the distinction is the one most often blurred in this business, and because an allocator is entitled to know exactly what a counterparty is before speaking to them.
